Bottom of the pyramid

In economics, the bottom of the pyramid is the largest, but poorest, socio-economic group. In global terms, this translates to four billion people who live on less than $2 per day, typically in developing countries. The phrase “bottom of the pyramid” is used in the book The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid by C.K. Prahalad and Capitalism at the Crossroads by Stuart Hard. This field is also often referred to as the "Base of the Pyramid" or just the "BoP".

The main topic of this theory is to start seeing the four billion people who live on less than $2 per day not as poor and miserable, but as value-based consumers and creative and energetic entrepreneurs. With economic-based principles it is possible to create a better world for all of us.
